When you need to come up with better content ideas, you can try different brainstorming techniques to spark your inspiration and push your creativity to its limits. While you can't force it, you can follow a process that will help you structure your idea generation.
Here are 9 of our favorite techniques that we invite you to try:
1. Mind map
Mind maps are often the starting point of brainstorming Country Email List sessions and can be used both to generate ideas individually and in groups.
Similar in many ways to word association, this is a free-flowing approach that has you writing down ideas, thoughts, and notes from a starting point and subsequent subtopics.
The concept is simple to understand and easy to follow:
You can use a sheet of paper, a whiteboard, or an online mind mapping tool (like Lucid Chart ).
Place your central topic right in the center of the space and write your ideas around it.
Draw lines out of your main topic and create at least four subtopics (i.e., ideas related to your main topic).
Extend each with ideas that come to mind about these subtopics. They can be headlines, narrower topics, interesting facts, etc. Whatever comes to mind.
Once you've completed your mind map, continue working on it for a set period of time or until you can add more elements. At this point you should have a whole page (or whiteboard) of initial ideas to further refine into great content ideas.
Are you having trouble getting started? Check out this video that explains the process in detail.
2. Content scrolling file
To have good ideas you have to be inspired.
When coming up with initial content ideas on your own (perhaps to participate in a group refinement session), a tried-and-true method is to go through your scroll file. It's important to note that this isn't something you can just decide to try next time you need ideas; a content scroll file is created over time.
